PAGE TWO <* God does not care if your clothes are torn, He cares only if your faith is worn. It’s people who notice the clothes you wear, God restores your soul, because He cares. How many times many of us use the excuse of having “nothing to wear” to keep us from going to church! Well, it really is an excuse, but a poor one. Why do we go to church? Hot, muggy weather? That’s a general com plaint. Me? I just think it’s delightfully hot. I keep thinking, “I’M really warm— l can go outdoors and still be warm. As you might suspect . . I HATE WINTER. Another good thing about summer is all the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. Right now we can have our choice of snap beans, good corn-on the-cob, cucumbers, toma toes, squash, onions, lima beans, beets and cabbage— cheap, too. Soon it’ll be local cantaloupes, water melons and peaches. Don’t it sound truly like the Garden of Eden? This may be useful: Ladies, if you’re looking for a job, try looking in the “Help Wanted—Male column in the newspaper. Even though newspapers continue to ' run separate headings for men and women, it is illegal for employers to practice this sort of job discrimination. A woman who goes ahead and applies for a “men only” job may find that the employer is perfectly willing to hire a woman. !||k ilk, .. ■ Special PRICE! # SIOO-95 S/peCml FEATURES I •8 cycle*-"-normal cycle {or washing regular gar ments; gentle cycle for all your dainty delicates; super soak cycle eliminatee pre-eoaldng and hand scrubbing e One setting automatically provides amount of washing time and correct agitation and spin speeds e Magic-Mix* filter • 8 water temp selections esuKGiLATOS* agitator washing action. n-k. She’s had a busy and eventful month with the. Mitchener’s oldest son, John, graduating from Yale and their youngest son, Bill, graduating from Carolina Military Academy, after which they journey ed to Expo ’67 in Mon-1 treal. She looks wonder ful, too, in spite of being the mother of three grown up handsome sons whose “goings on” keep her step ping hither and yon. (Daddy “bears up” well, too). Here’s a good recipe fori a never fail fudge, given to | me by Mrs. Mae Neilson (a fishing friend). 2 squares Baker’s choco late. - 4 cups granulated sugar. 1 tablespoon vinegar. 2 tablespoons Karo sy rup. 1 cup canned milk. Bring ingredients to boil and cook four minutes. Remove from heat, add 8-1 ounce par of peanut butter I and an 8-ounce jar of marshmallow creme. Beat until creamy and pour on I buttered pan.
