OVERMAN : Chowan County agricul tural and home economics Extension work is meant to be channeled in areas most efficient and effec tive in helping people de velop a better way of liv ing. Very often there are problems and needs exist ing over the county which are overlooked. Every person in the county has a responsibility to help in discovering these prob lems and needs and seek ing a means of solving them. The present Chowan County Extension Advisory Board is made up of the following people: David Bateman, Mrs- Vivian Jor dan, Earl G. Harrell, Wil liam Bonner, Henry Hin ton, Rev. Meredith Gar jpett, Thomas P. Griffin, jilrs. Etta Hathaway, Mrs. Slary Long, Mrs. C. W. Overman, T. C. Byrum, ir., L. C. Bunch, Bristoe Perry, W. M. Hare, George Lewis and Miss Diane Pee din- These people repre sent every area in the county. These board mem bers are open to sugges tions and if you have ideas or suggestions, please pass them on to them. Soil Information Week: During the week of Janu ary 20 we have scheduled seven community meetings over the county on soil testing and soil test re ports. At each of these meetings we will explain and try to have each per son attending understand how to interpret and use the present soil test re ports. It will he very helpful if every farmer will bring one or more of his soil test reports so that he may work with them personally. We will also discuss soil sampling and preparation of the field information form. Concluded on Page I Social Items Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Domb of Orangeburg, S. Z., spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. West Leary. Mr. and Mrs. William Bunch and family of Vir ginia Beach, Va-, spent New Year’s Day visiting relatives and friends.
