Rev. Larry McClure spoke briefly to the honored guests reminding them that more than 2,000,000 persons in the United States become senior adults every year; that there are now over 31,000,000 senior adults presently in our nation and that millions of these older people have become a strong economic, political SUNSETGOALS We sometimes worry, fret and frown It looks like the world will get us down. We get out the liniment, roll and rub; Then take off our clothes - soak in the tub. Our bones seem to creak each time we walk; Voices get shaky when we try to talk. Seems as if the older we get The more we have about which to fret. There is no need for grief or sorrow. After the sunset always comes tomorrow- Tomorrow! Eternity! Parting never. There we’ll live forever and ever. No aches or pains or wondering why; No time to worry - no cause to die. Think of the good times we have had. The good of times outweighs the bad. Then everything seems to be going wrong Get out the hymn book - sing a song. Think of the joys with each to share, And love there’s nothing to compare. When friends and loved ones share a kiss, , Accept it with pride - it’s nothing amiss. • Z Keep your chin up, smile all the while. Soon they will catch the same joyous smile Let the old bones creak and shake; The sunset years should happiness make. Bless the Lord with all your soul- After all, He is our GOAL! During this season of the year, Jenkins suggested, motorists should anticipate frost and cover their car glasses at nigit. Motorists attempting to reach their destination while peering through a “peep-hole” of frost can expect enforcement action by the patrol, Jenkins said. paid. Hie Third Party agrees only to receive a copy of the cutoff notice. It is then up to the individual to take appropriate action. Kenneth W. Lane, manager of customer relations for Vepco, said, “This is a good program designed to prevent hard ship, especially to our elderly or infirm customers. And, it is another step in Vepco’s efforts to work individually with customers.” Lane said that Vepco is one of the few utilities in the nation to undertake such a program. He noted that all customers will receive an explanatory brochure with their monthly statement. A tear-off card is attached for the customer and third party to complete, sign, and return to Vepco for enrollment in the pro gram.
