day at the Martin County
Auditorium in Williamston for
the semi-annual Circuit Con
vention of Jehovah’s
Witnesses.
Principal speaker for the
event was district director
Louis R. Beda. The two-day
assembly attracted delegates
from ten mideastern and
northeastern North Carolina
congregations. Other such
assemblies have been held in
Williamston by the Witnesses
in the past, always with the
purpose of Bible study. Each
assembly has a scriptural
theme. The one just conclud
ed being: “Making the Truth
Manifest in Our Lives.”
The theme of this assembly,
“Making the Truth Manifest
in Our Lives,” stressed the
importance of obedience to
God’s Word. According to one
of the local ministers, Flet
cher Gardner, scriptures
were discussed emphasising
the role of the husband, wife,
and children in the Christian
family. * 4
One of the higlights of the
assembly came Saturday
when 15 new witnesses were
baptized. These have joined
