MACEDONIA Mr*. Mrlvin Hedden wts a visitor of ber parents, 'Mr. and Mr*. E. L. Cook last week. Mr. Richard Rhodes who has been in the CCC camp for the pest year has returned home. Mr. H. Cooke who has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Town, son of Murphy returned home last week. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. King, of this section, moved to Peachtrec Tues. day. Mrs. C. H. Voyles is spending the week with her daughter, Mrs. 4. L. Cook. Mr. Buster Collins of Culberson, was a business visitor here last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thomas were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. North Carolina The Cher OAK PARK The death angels visited the* home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mashburn Saturday and took from them their darling infant babe. Funeral services were held at Mt. Carmel Baptist church Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. John Morrow, officiating. In terment was in the church cemetery. Rev. John Morrow, Rev. Nute Morrow and Willie Ledford were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr. Lon I Ragiei. Miss Vaul Hamby who is staying with Mrs. Marshall Hamby at Postell, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Hamby. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Keid were the Sunday guests of Mrs. E. B. Reid. Miss Pearl Hamby was the Sunday dinner guest of Miss Addie Stiles. Miss Lillie Payne of Hiawassee was the Saturday night guest of Miss Meredith ?nH Hazel Horton. Messrs. Clifton Raper and Robert Hunsucker were the Friday night guests of Mr. Bass Roberson. Miss Gladys Campbell and little sisters and brother, Isadora, Martha Nell and Junior of Birch, were the Sunday night guests of their aunt, Mrs. Clifton Raper. Several from here attended an egg hunt at Mr. Sam Voyles Sunday afternoon and reported a nice time. Mr. Bass Roberson returned home several days ago, after spending a week with his son, Mr. Carl Roberson of Rabun Gap, Ga. Mrs. G. G. Quinn and children spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Presswood of Vests. Mr. Marcus Raper was the Saturday night guest of Mr. Ernest Roberson. Mrs. Ralph Horton was the guest of Mrs. Roy Mashburn Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roberson and daughter, Mildred, of Vests, was the Saturday night guests of Mrs. Rober sons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fate Chatman. Miss Vaul Hamby was the Sunday dinner guest of her cousin, Miss Lillian Raper. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Johnson were business visitors at Mr. Clifton Raptrs' one day last week. Mr. Mitchell Stiles was a business visitor at Murphy Saturday. We have our church ceiled and hope how soon we can get it finished. Miss Nema Mae Bishop was the Friday night guest of Mrs. Gillie Mae Raper Mr. George Floyd was a business visitor here Monday. Mr. H. N. Taylor visited relatives at Copperhill, ana Ducktown, last week. Mr. Lloyd Cole spent Saturday night in Copperhill. Mr. and Mrs. Enos Mason and chil. dren. Miss Leora Hickey, of Duck, town, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hickey and son Payton, of Postell, visited Mr. and Mrs. H. B. McNabb Sunday. Miss Ruth McNabb and Messrs. Ersa and Truman McNabb, of Cul. lowhee, spent the Easter holidays here with home folks. Mrs. Clinton Keenum of Gastonia, was the week-end visitor of her mother, Mrs. Viola Oirtis. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Picklesimer and daughter, spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carter, near Farner. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hickey and son Billy, of Copperhill, were the Sunday afternoon visitors of Mrs. W. L. McNabb. Misses Bonnie and Gladys Dye returned to their home Saturday after spending several months in Gastonia. Mr. Luther Burgess of the CCC camp near Tellico Plains, visited his mother and friends of Hiawassee over the week-end. Mrs. Callie Hamby had as her dinner guests Sunday, Mr. Elden Allen and family, and Miss Naomia Hamby. Rev. Harrison spent Tuesday night and Friday night of last week week with Mr. Fair Hamby. Rev. Eugene Cole is the guest of Mr. J. P. Baine at the present time. Mr. Guy Eller was visiting Mr. K. W. Shearer Mbnday. Mr. and Mrs. John Picklesimer and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Horton of Patrick, attended preaching at Pleasant Hill Sunday. Mr. Owen Picklesimer purchased a fine cow from K. W. Shearer Saturd. day. Mr. Clifton Raper and Bob Ifunsuck were in our midst buying cattle ast week. Our Sunday school has greatly improved at Pleasant Hill for the last month with a large attendance. Mrs. Pauline Shearer and Mrs. Mamie Bain were the guests of Mrs. Callie Hamby Monday. Rev. Harrison spent Thursday night with Mr. Elden Allen.
