County Students Are Offered Chance To Win $600 Contest Cherokee County high school students today were offered a ahanoe to win a 9800 college scholarship to an essay contest sponsored by the Medical Society of North Carolina The contest ends Feb. 26 The 0600, payable to any col lege or university, will be first prize In the tentest Subject of the essay is "Why The Private Free lice of Medicine Furnishes This Country With The Finest Medical Care." The college selected by the first place winner must meet standards of the Southern Associa tion of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Otlier prizes will be awarded winners of second and third place essays. SIXTH YEAR This is the sixth consecutive year the State Medical Society has held the contest sponsored by the Public Relations Committee of the State Society in cooperation with the Association of American Phy sicians and Surgeons. In addition to the prize of a $600 scholarship awarded the first place winner, the Public Relations Committee may choose to Invite, at its- expense, the winning con testant to be Its guest and to pre sent the winning essay at the an nual meeting of the State Medical Society In Pinehurst, May 11 through May 13, 1933.
