The RoUry Club unanimously elected Dr. Gerald Almoad president (or the coming 'year last Tuesday night. Jul; 11. Dr. Almoad hat served many po?U and emeriti? be be came a Rotarian in 1M. A firm believer in the Rotary motto 'Service Above Self," he has served a previous term as presi , dent, as a delegate many times to state conventions and district meetings: he campaigned vigor ously and succesrfully far the election af Andrews' Gordon But ler as district governor, served repeatedly as secretary-treasurer of the Andrews Club and acts as perennial indoctrination speech maker for the induction of new members. Dr. Almoad is a native of Andrews and maintains dental of fices in Andrews and Robbins villa. Other officers elected for the incoming year are: Gahiaha Pul lium. Vice-Presiednt and John Ellis, Secretary-Treasurer. United Lutheran Women Meet ANDREWS - The United Lu theran Church Women met with Mrs. Charles Huggins July 13 at 3 P.M. at the Lutheran parson age. Seven members were pres ent. The program. "Am I In formed?" was given by Mrs. E. U. Burch. The group made plans to send delegates to the state coonventin at Hickory August 29. The afternoon will include soft ball. basketball, pot luck dinner and end with a dance at the American Legion Hut. This wll be under the direc tion of Bob Burch of Hayesville and Elders Mouritsen and Laudie who are presently laboring in Andrews. All members from Hayesville. Pa. Mrs. Sheidy and children had spent a month with her mother. Mrs. Lena Gresh Mr. Shiedy visited two weeks and accompanied them home Johnny Gernert is spending sev eral weeks with his brother Peter Gernert. Peter is attending sum mer session at State College in Raleigh. N. C Dr. and Mrs. F. E. JBlalock. Jr. and family had as their guests this week end. his mother. Mrs. F E. Blalock Sr. and his sister Helen. Relatives visiting Mrs J. W. Brown and Mrs. Luther Nicholson this week are Mrs. Carmen John son of Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Osbourne from Newport News. Va. and Mr. and Mrs. David Murphy and son David. The Murphy's are traveling from California to N. Y. state. Their next visit with relatives will be in Miami. Fla. and from there to Staton Island where he will be employed. Mr. Murphy is the son of the former Miss Virginia Tat ham. Mr. and Mrs. Osbourne are pnroute to Miami. Fla. to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jesse McGhee. Mrs. McGhee is the former iss Lucy Osbourne. Mrs. Neil Haye Jr. and daughter Karen, and Mrs. Hulda Baker of Boynton Beach. One of the highlights of the week was the class of Mrs. Jewell Fessenden of the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. on a study of leadership needs.
