The following is a summary
of the LRDA plan:
(1) LRDA proposes to use
the Community Services
Block Grant to operate five
community service centers
located in low-income Indian
communities;
(2) to assist the operations
of 14 Indian senior citizens
chapters;
(3) to provide home repair
services to low-income Indian
families in substandard hous
ing; and
(4) to assist Indian families
to participate in the low
income Energy Assistance
Program and other assistance
programs.

D. COLLECTOR OF
DELINQUENT TAXES. As
employee in this class per
forms specialised field wort in
the collection of delinquent
dazes owed by individual
taxpayers and businesses in
the County. Wort involves the
compilation of updated delin
quent tax lists, contact with
individual taxpayers to re
quest full or partial payment,
and the application of enfor
cement proceedings against
taxpayers who willfully refuse
to pay their taxes. Work
requires the use of indepen
dent judgment in a wide
variety of collection activities.
The employee must exercise
considerable tact and firm
ness in serving the public.
Wort is performed in accor
dance with provisions of the
North Carolina Machinery
Act. and local regulations
governing collection of delin
quent taxes and other fees.
Work is performed under
general supervision of the Tax
Collector and is evaluated
through conferences, periodic
audits, and the general effec
tiveness of collections made.
Desirable Experience and
Training: Graduation from
high school plus at least two
additional years of business or
finance related courses. Ai
