Briley, home economics agent, recei ved a 30 year tenure award, and Clarence E. Stockton, agricultural extension agent, received a 20 year tenure * award. The presentations were made at a state ence at die NC. Agricultural Extension Service on the North Carolina State Univer sity campus on Tuesday (Nov. 16). Mrs. Briley is a graduate of Bennett Coolege in Greens boro and NCSU. Stockton is a graduate of AAT State Uni versity. SCHOOL COUNSELOR* CONFERENCE HELD I The 1982 North CaroHaa School Counselor's Conference was held Nov ember 11 & 12 ia Raleigh at the Radieoa Mrs. Jo Ana Chavis Lowery, Mrs. Fatue B ray boy, Mrs. Aggie Deeae. Mrs. Brenda Larfce. Mr. Josephus Locklear, Mr. Clarence Locklear, Mr. Harold Deese, Mr. Wesley Revels, and Mr. Bobby D. Locklear, counselors from the Robeson County School Unit, and Mrs. Marria Hunt, Ms. Harriet Mason and Miss Rose Marie Lowry of the Health Careers Awareness Program of the Robeson County Schools all attended. ; Program sessions were presented to help counselors enhance and update their skills. The keynote speakers were Dr. William Watsoo Purkey, Professor of Counselor Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Ms. Marlene Pinten, President of the Ameri can School Counselors Association. The thirty nine program sessions covered, such topics as relaxation train ing, working with troubled adolescents, child abuse, discipline in the schools, and drug prevention.
