Chapel Hffl St. Phone 3.7461 Mrs. Josephine Hoskin Hostess To The Lyon Park Rose Garden Club The Lyon Park Rose Garden Club met Monday evening at 7 o^lock at the home of Gar dener Josephine Hoikln as hos tess. The house was decorated beautifully for the occasion and in keeping with the Valentine season. The garden gate was opened by gardener Fannie Tapp; the club song was led by gardener Elizabeth Bullock, a^r which gardener Tapp read a poem en- tieled “Whoever Makes A Gar den." Prayer was offered by gardener Pearl. Brown. This was followed by the last verse'of the club song. At this point, the prudent— Mrs. Alice Jones, turned the meeting over to the chairman of the program committee, Gar dner N. J. Curry. A brief memorial service was held for Gardner Thelma Allen. It consisted of a song “Come Ye Disconsolate,” led by Gard ner Hoskin. A candle was light ed and then the 23rd Psalm was read by Gardener Helen Mc- Dade McClain. She also gave a reading “Over the Bugged Road.” The president thanked the committee and then o^>ened the meeting \for business. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted and re ports were heard from the va rious committees. In reporting for the social committee, chairman Elnora Smith recommended a baked cake sale. It was accepted and will begin February 26. The Program Committee chairman gave a brief outUne of the meeting for the year. The president made Mrs. Ca therine Shaw welcomed to her first meeting with the dub. Present at the meeting were two guests, Mrs. Louise Thorpe and Mrs. Mary L. Stei^ens.
