Clubs and Socials REUNION IN THE PARK The Eaton, RocheDe and Pcttiford families recently held their annual reunion at Sherwood Park in Durham. i The occasion was an enjoyable fellowship as family mem bers and friends ate a delicious meal, relaxed and played games in a nice atmosphere on a hot day . The Eaton, Rochelle and Pettifords' regular quarterly meet ing will be held at the home of Mrs. Delores Rogers at 2401 Southern Drive off Ellis Road on the 5th Sunday afternoon in July. HYATT-MILLER REUNION HELD The Hyatt-Miller Family reunion was hosted here on July 2 and 3 by Mesdames Josephine Brown, Minnie H. Cromartie and Julia "Higgins. The opening banquet was held at Holiday Inn West on July 2. On Sunday, July 3, the family worshipped together at Mt. Vemon Baptist Church under the pastorship of Dr. Percy L. High. Later in the evening, the family" with a few friends, en joyed the informal picnic dinner at White Rock Baptist Church. vRev. LA. OES, had it's annual picnic on Saturday, July ,16 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James (Katie) Pratt on Mount Sinai Rd. There was fun and plenty of food. The wedding is set for August. 6 at Union Baptist Church at 2 p.m. DELTA 34th CONVENTION SLATED FOR DENVER WASHINGTON - "An Agenda for Change" wilfbe the theme of the 34th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.,' a national public service sorority, to be held at the Con vention Center in DenverColorado, August 6-12. Mrs. Thelma Daley, national president of the 95,000 mem ber organization, announced that over 4,000 delegates and their families are expected to attend the five day session. She pointed Out that the program has been planned, to focus attention "on maior Droblems faced bv our nation, and .; particularly largely by woman and minority citizens. j "We expect the delegates to address these problems in a forth-right manner in an effort to redefine the issues, generate new data, establish new directions and develop a comprehen - sive, practical and workable agenda for change." An organization of mostly black, college educated and pro fessional women with about 600 chapters throughout the United State s, Haiti and Liberia, members of Delta Sigma Theta , can be found in leadership positions on the loca, state and . national levels. , Among the program highlights will he two special luncheons with nationally known speakers as well as a series of workshops-to provide participants with continuing education credits.
