Presently, Winston Salem buries garbage in its city landfill for about $3 lo $3.50 per ton, while DSI estimates the cost of processing garbage into marketable fuel would range from $10 to $12 a ton. But with rising energy and land costs, converting solid waste into fuel in stead of burying it in a landfill may be economically feasible in five lo ten years. mm THE CAROLINA TflMTKE DOWNTOWN Wmn eo6H239 PART-TIME JOBS WITH FULL-TIME SKILLS.
