4 THE CAROLINA TIMES SAT . MAY 24,1980 MOUNT G I LEAD TO OBSERVE WOMEN'S DAY .The Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Rev. Alexander D. Moseley, pastor, will observe and celebrate its Annual Women's Day Services Sunday, May 25, during the 8 a.m. and 1 1 .00 worship services. The Reverend Ms. Yvonne Beasley will deliver the 8 Un. Women's Day Sermon. Rev. Beasley is the director of the United Campus Christian Ministry of North Carolina Central University. The Mount Gilead Mixed Chorus will render the music. Mrs. Josephine D. Cement is the featured 11 a.m. speaker for the occasion. Mrs. Clement has long been active in Durham in such civic affairs as Girl and Boy Scouts, PTA YWCA, and United Fund, and many other organizations. In 1973, she was appointed by the City Council to the Durham City Board of Education. She is also a member of the boards of the Negro Braille Magazine Project, the Durham County Library and the North Carolina Symphony. She is a member of the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People, and is a life member of the NAACP. The Mount Gilead Women's Day Choir will render the music for the 1 1 a.m. worship service. As an added feature of the celebration, Mount Gilead will honor the 1980 Outstanding Woman of the Year for the Mount Gilead Baptist Church. Mrs. Blondenear Brown and Mrs. Lugenia Mason are the co-chair of the 1980 Mount Gilead Women's Day Celebra tion. FIRST CALVARY SENIOR USHERS MEET The First Calvary Baptist Church Senior Ushers met at the home of Mrs. Nellie Hayes, 1004 Willowdale Ave. A delicious repast was served to the following members: Mesdames Gail Llyod, Regina Buchanan, Mae W. Webb, Lena Edwards, Willie McCuller, Fannie Harris, Mary John son, Martha Lyde, Anna Hogan and Josephine Hayes. Mrs. Buchanan thanked the hostess for an enjoyable evening.
