The Use of Records is the theme for the week-long in stitute. Sessions will be held in the Archives and HistoryState Library Building in Raleigh. Sessions will be devoted to methodology, cartographic records, land records, mar riage records,, tax - records, census records and court records, according to Dr. Thornton W. Mitchell, state archivist. In addition a ses sion will be devoted to "personal actions" such "as naturalization, divorce, name change and private petitions in state and county records. . Staff for the institute will include members of the pro fessional staff of the Division of Archives and History, but some sessions will be con ducted by specialists who are not connected with tiu 4 chives. 1 , . Time will be available each day for individual research as well as for workshop periods. Certificates will be awarded to participants, and 2.5 Continuing Education Units will be available from Meredith College. Institute admission is open to the general public, but previous experience in the use of archival resource material is essential, accor ding to Dr. Mitchell. Enroll ment is limited to 30. In its first three weeks and three dyas at six New York area theaters, Ralph Bakshi's film has grossed a hugh $488,885, it was announced! recently by Robert L. Fried-j man, President of Domestic Distribution for Columbia Pictures. The story of four genera tions whose lives are focused on and revolve- around Ihel beat . of American music, American Pop, the state of the art in living animation, was directed by Bakshi from a screenplay by Ronni Kern, j Martin Ransohoff and1 Bakshi co-produced and Richard St. Johns was ex ecutive producer. Music adaptation and ' original music is by Lee Holdridge. ' Stir Crazy' Nearing $90 Million Gross Stir Crazy, the nation's number one box office at traction, is racing toward the $90 million domestic box of fice gross mark with a total to date after 12 weeks and three days playing time of $88,507,234, it was announc ed recently by Robert L. Friedman, President of Col umbia Pictures Domestic1 Distribution. Now playing in '582 theaters, Stir Crazy stars Gene Wilder and Richard Pry or and was directed by Sidney Poitier.
