Hal Cranfoid. He has been with
the Frisco system, for a number of
years, at Uoliimbus, rvausas, ami
only recently was transferred to
Jbplin Mo, and maue city ticket
agent. Hal is a good railroad man
and fully deserves the promotion.
The rock is being gotten out to
macadamize ihe road leading out of
High Point to Winston-Salem as far
as the Guilford county line. The
macadam road south from High
l oint toward Archuale has already
been completed. The Winston-Salem
road will be easier to grade than
the Archdale road, consequently bet
ter tune will be made in completing

Major General Lunsford L Lomax
has been appointed as a member of
the Gettysburg Battlefield commis
sion to fill the vacascy caused by the

Gen Lomax is the senior confederate
