Bowman have started buildiag an 8 room bungalow in the new development ou No. 62, west side of town. ?John Covington, convicted of embezzlement iu Alamance Su perior Court last spring, escaped Iroui the State prison camp iu Chatham county a few days ago and is still at large. ?Alamance County is repre sented at Campliell O.dlegp, Buie's Creek, by Miss Louise Bonder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Peuder, Burlington. She is a freshman aud was refcently elect eii critic in the Astro literary so ciety. She also coaches the girls' athletic games. Bule Mclver, formerly of Burlington, is also there, writes the correspondent. ?The store of J. W. Simmons at Haw River was robbed Sun day uigbt by two uegreos who have been arrested ?ud jailed. This store has beuu robbed a uuuiberof times, with arrests and convictiot s following. Oue eyed uegroes, says Sheriff Stockard, have figured in most of these rob beries, who appear to have an "eye single" for the Simmons store. ?Tne Farm Debt Adjustment committee for Alamance county, J. Rog< rs of Graham was painfully hurt in a truck wreck around noon, yesterday, on the highway south of Graham Besides Mr. Rogers. Milton Isley aud another were ou the truck. As they were goiug down hill toward a bridge another pariy came ou the bridge. In attempt itig to stop the truck left the road ami turned over. Mr. Rogers had his collar bone broken and was bruised. Dr. Boyd Harden graduated from the University at Chapel Hill aud took his medical traiu ing at Dartmouth and the Uni versity of Pennsylvania. From there he was called to the Matiee Memorial Hospital, Pitts burgh, Pa., about six years ago, where be has attained distinction as a surgeon. Dr. Harden is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Junius H.
