At the Lions Club meeting Monday night there were (our visitors from the Zebulon Lions Club, namely Past District Governor Frank O. Kemp, President Frank Wall, past cabinet secretary Crafton Hudson and Arm strong Cannady. Lion Frank Wall read a res olution to C. Ray Pruette and the club. Lion BUI Johnson made a progress report on the form ing of a Frankllnton Rescue Squad. Ambulance given by Sandllng Funeral Home Is now being painted. The Squad has ten members and wants five more. There was some roof rais ing singing at the beginning of the meeting led by Frank Kemp, who has an excellent voice. Pianist was Miss Mar tha Whitfield. Twenty-four Frankllnton Lions, four from Zebulon and three from But ner really belted out the song of the North Carolina Lions. Twenty members of the club received their copies of the book, "History of Llonlsm In North Carolina 1922-66". Copies of this history will be presented to both school Libraries and the Town Li brary by the club. Louisburg Lions Hear Jeweler Lion Louis Day, a Rocky Mount jeweler, addressed the local lions last Tuesday even ing at the Murphy House. His subject concerned a horse show project. Lion Day claimed that seven ty-two horse shows were pre sented last year. A total of $119,000 was cleared off these shows. Day cautioned the group that the project, to be successful, would have to be a total effort on the part of each member. He then gave a breakdown on all the Jobs that would be necessary In presenting the show. The proposed date Is Saturday, July 1. Another event now being planned Is the Twenty- Fifth Anniversary Dinner, a ladles' night affair on March 7, at 7:00 In the Louisburg High School Cafeteria. The speak er will be Aubrey Green, 1964 President of Lions Interna tional.
