Ballots To
Be Mailed By
September 5
Community committee
election ballots will be mailed
to all known eligible voters
around September 5. The

and postmarked or returned
to the County ASCS Office
by September 16. Any person
who thinks he is eligible to
vote and does not receive a
ballot shortly after Septem
ber 5, should contact the
County ASCS Office. The
voted ballots will be publicly
tabulated by the County
Committee in the County
ASCS Office on September
19 beginning at 9:00 A.M.
The newly elected com
munity committeemen will
meet in a county convention
in the County ASCS Office
on September 25, for the
purpose of nominating and
electing persons to fill the
vacancies on the County
Committee.
The 1970 Wheat Program
announced by Secretary of
Agriculture Hardin, contains
five important features: '
1. The national average
support-level will be $1.25
per bushel. This is unchanged
from recent years.
2. The diversion payment
rate has been increased to
50% of county loan rate
times projected yield.
3. A 12 percent reduction
in farm allotments.
4. Wheat Marketing Certi
ficates will be paid on 48% of
the projective production.
5. The option under which
a producer can substitute the
planting of wheat for feed
grains or feed grains for
wheat in any combination,
will be available.
This new program is aimed
at strengthening the U. S.
position in world markets and
at continuing the effort to
bring wheal production into
line with needs.
Nearly every problem can
be solved by persons not in
volved; consequently, if we
could shift the world's people
around, there would be no
problems.
