Spicer, 84-year-old citizen of Traph-’ll who died at his home Monday. He leaves his wife. Mrs. Fann'o Spicer, and one daughter. Mrs. V. C. Swaim Rites Held Tuesday Funeral service was held Tues day afternoon at Swan Creek church for Mrs. Vina C. Swaim, age 65, resident of near Jones- ville who died Sunday in the hos pital at Elkin. Rev N. T. Jarvis conducted the last rites, assisted by Rev. R. J. Pardue. Surviving are eight children; H. B. Swaim, of Dobson: T. C Swaim. of Detroit, Micblgan; Mrs. D. C Swaim, of Winston-Salem; Mrs. Columbus Hayes, of Rondo.; Mrs. Clay Macey and Mrs. Omar Walker, of Hamptonville; Dinah and Deatte Swaim, of Jonesville; also surviving are 18 grandchil dren. Former Wilkes Man Dies In Baltimore Cyrus Billings, former Wilkes man who had been employed .at Glenco, Md., died in a hospital at Baltimore Tuesday. He was a son ol T. T. Billings, well known citizen of Traphill and a brother of Empton Billings an employee of Forest Furniture company here.
