Items About Comers and Goers . . . From You Know Who Move About '■"iM Mr. and Mfa. J. It. Fowler, of Flushing, .N. Y., are visiting here with Mr. Fowler's people. Miss Elizabeth Pharr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Pharr, has resumed her studies at A,. S. T. C. at Boone after spending the summer in Wilkesboro. Mr. Hubert Dancy, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E, Dancy, of Wilkes boro, was one among those who entered Appalachian for the fall term. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Hinds, of CreBuptown, Md., are visiting. In the home of Mr. H. M. Mecham and Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle M. Hutchens. Mr. Ivey Moore left Tuesday for .Tuscon, Arizona, where he will spend three weeks in the in terest of a throat injury. He was accompanied there by his oldest son, Mr. Dudley Moore. Mr. F. W. Absher, manager of the Wilkes FCX store here, at tended the state meeting of the Farmers Co-operative Exchange in Raleigh this week. In addition to the FCX manager here, sev eral other members of the Wilkes cooperative attended the meet ing. Mr. J. D. Wallace, Who has been manager of Dick's Electric store'in this city, has accepted a position as manager of Hinshaw Hardware store in Elkin. Mr. Wallace and family will move soon to their home on Gwyn avenue in Elkin. Mr. Wallace has purchased a residence there. - Dr. and Mrs. C. S. Sink and daughter, Mrs. Darwin Smithey, have returned from a two weeks stay at Park View Inn at Berke ley Springs, W. Va. Mr. Smithey spent the first week there with them, and Mr. Charles Sink went up for the week-end to accom pany him home. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Dancy, Jr., returned several days ago from a wedding trip to Washington, D. C., and New York City. They left last week for the University I of Tennessee in Knoxville, where , Mr. Dancy is a student, and Mrs. Dancy is an instructor in Eng ' lish. They spent several days ! here with Mr. Dancy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Dancy, be fore going to Ktfoxville. I Rev. Clate Brown has been called aa pastor of Goshen Bap tist church. H® will preach Sun day, October 6, 11 a. m., and everybody Is Invited to the sar rice. Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Miller, of Jefferson, spent Sunday after noon with Mrs. Miller's parents, Rev. and Mrs. J. T. Nichols. They were returning from a visit to the home of Mrs. Miller's sister, Mrs. W. I». Buckner, of Durham, and to their son. Junior, who is a student at State College, and their son, Dr. John Miller, who is an Interne at Rex Hospital at Raleigh.
