k MRS. RICHARD MARTIN, ' Reporter) A revival meeting la in progress at the Baptist church. Rev. Eli Jordan is assisting the pastor, Rev. Cook, with the services. The public is cordiilly invited to at tend. The Ronda Woman's Missionary Society met with Mrs. Maude Dob bins Thursday night for the regu lar monthly meeting with ten members and two visitors present. Mrs. R. R. Crater was program chairman for the month. Jimmy Bradley, of Blkin, visi ted his cousin, Jerry Pardue, a few days last week. Little Allen Brown, who has been spending a few days with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Martin, returned to Winston-Salem with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Brown, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Byrd announce the birth of a son, Jane 7th at Elkin hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Beckner, of near Winston-Salem were Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Petree and family. Mrs. Blanche J arris has return ed to Winston-Salem after spend ing the week with Mrs. Maude Dobbins. \ Mr. and Mrs. Dewey York and sons, Dewey, Jr., and Earl, spent two days and nights with Mrs. York'B sister, Mrs. Bailey John son, and family. Little Anne Miller, of North Wilkesboro, is spending this week with' her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson. Mrs. Hobson Blackburn, Mrs. Ora Van Hoy, Messrs. Tommy and Ernest Walls attended the funeral of their uncle, Charlie Gillian, at Rockingham, Saturday. n Dellaplane News (By RUTH LJNNEY) Services -were held at Cranberry last Saturday, Sunday and Sunday night. Rey. L. T. Younger has been pastor 14 years next Pall. The colored people had all-day service and Bpread dinner at their church, Union Grove, last Sun day. Mrs. Robert Harris has been critically ill for several weeks. Mrs. G. W. Cothren has recov ered after being quite ill a short time from an ailment of the mid dle ear. Services are held at Oak Forest the third Sunday by the new pas tor, the Rev. Mr. Day. As planned last autumn, Antioch church is being remodeled and Sunday School rooms added. Little Sue Johnson has had a very sore hand. She hurt it on a broken hoe. A pie supper will be held at Antioch church Saturday night. Mrs. Raymond Davis, has had her Bister, of Mobile, Alabama, visiting her for a few weeks re cently. Miss Ruth Linney completed the census in Antioch township 2 weeks ago.
