Frank Boyd Frank Boyd, widower of Annie Ruth Allen Boyd of Landrum, S. C., died Thursday in the VA Center, Asheville. A native of Spartanburg County, he was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are: a daughter, Miss Joyce Boyd of Landrum; a son, Albert Boyd of Washington, D. C.; stepdaughter, Mrs. Grace Ann Thompson of Saluda; stepson, John Wesley Allen of Union; sister, Mrs. Annie Belle Wingo, Landrum, brother, John Boyd of Landrum; 7 grandchild ren. Call 7 — 9p.m. 894-3821. adv. 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27C “Museum Notes” reports that Philip Dusenbury’s sculpture will go on view at the Greenville County Museum of Art beginning Sunday, July 13 and remain until Sunday, August 31st. “Described as images of life’s “other side,” Dusenbury’s fig ures will remain on display through August 31st. “A piece of sculpture by Dusenbury is never blase whether it is depicting humor, compassion, horror or whimsy. His work always brings into fucus a delicate balance of feelings. “Dusenbury, a resident of Rt. 1, Saluda, N. C. started sculpting with clay while serving a stint in the Army near Yuma, Arizona. He later shifted to papier-mache because newspapers were inex pensive and readily available. “Presently, Dusenbury’s work is undergoing a metamorphosis. While once limiting his work to small comical papier-mache figures, Dusenbury now works with plaster cloth fashioning intimidating life-sized objects. All of Dusenbury’s work is coated with a polymer resin for durability. The coating used is very similar to those applied to Chinese lacquered boxes. “Dusenbury’s work has been exhibited at the Gibbes Art Gallery, Charleston, S C.; Ackland Gallery, Chapel Hill, and the Peachtree Gallery in Atlanta, Ga.” WANTED: Odd jobs. A native of Minneapolis, Minn., he had lived in many areas of the country. He was a graduate of Northwestern University and was a vice president of the First National City Bank of New York. He moved here from Bronxville, N. Y. about 20 years ago. He was the original owner of Green Hills at Lake Adger. He sold half to John R. Fischer in 1955 and in 1957 the Potters and Fischers built a house together. Later the Potters built a house of their own and the Fischers remodeled the original house. In 1972 the Louis J. Stirlings bought their house and the Potters moved to Heritage Village. He was a member of the Tryon Congregational Church and the Tryon Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Randall Potter; a son, John Randall Potter and four grand sons.
