Tryon Daily / BECOME ^A BETTER SPEAKER! “' The Men’s Club of Tryon United Methodist Church is spon soring two seminars on Public Speaking. Each Seminar will be the same in content; one on Wed., May 13, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and another on Sat., May 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Both will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall. The registration fee is $15 per person which is tax deductible and all proceeds will be used for church programs. Jim Rutledge has a vast background and many years experience in industry, academic, church, and civic speaking and training activities. Through this exposure, he has developed speaking and presentation techniques that apply to both business and personal development. Jim Rutledge Seminar Instructor These Seminars will show you how to “Build A Professional Presentation." Most people panic when asked to speak or present their ideas to a group because they lack confidence in their ability to develop and make a presentation. This course will give you the following basics: How To Plan A Presentation The 10 steps in preparing a presentation The 10 steps in making a presentation Specific tips and techniques in speaking When and how to use visual aids NO ONE WILL BE ASKED TO MAKE A PRESENTATION but you will leave with better confidence in your ability to speak and present ideas.
