Jeannette Morris of Las Vegas, Nevada, won the Grand"Prize in the Kraft "Family -Favorite" Recipe Contest for her entry "Lemon Lush." ~ri- i i i ~ * i ne aeuciousiy attractive, retrigerated treat features La Creme whipped topping and Philadelphia Brand cream cheese between layers of lemon pudding and a homebaked crust. "I got the recipe from my mother," said Mrs. Morris, referring to Lois Nesbitt of Waterbury, CT. "I'm going to share my prize with her." The Grand Prize includes a check for $500, a selection of the most popular Kraft cookbooks and a four-day, three-night trip to Washington, D.C. with a guest appearance on the Black Entertainment Television (BET) program "Karen's Kitchen." On the show, which will be broadscast on cable television at a later date, Mrs. Morris will prepare her winning recipe with show hostess Karen DeWitt. Accompanied by her husband, Terrence, Mrs. Morris will also tour the nation's capital during her stay. Four second prizes of $300 and a selection of Kraft cookbooks were awarded to: Sheila Marshall of Jackson, MS, for her "Mississippi Apple Cake"; Barbara Spears of Gary, IN, for her "Saucy Burger"; Debra Bell of Richmond, VA, for her "Sweet and Spicy Beef" and Mamie ueorge ot hast Point, OA, tor her "Cheezy Salmon and Broccoli Bake." Philadelphia Brand cream cheese, softened 1 cup sifted pondered sugar 2 8-0z. contain?* La Creme whipped topping with real cream, thawed 2 3-3/4-oz. pkgs. lemon instant pudding and pie filling mix 3 cups milk Combine flour and 1 cup walnuts; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press onto bottom of 13x 9-inch baking pan. Bake at 375?, 20 minutes. Cool. Combine cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended. Fold in 1 container whipped topping; spread over crust. Prepare mix as directed on package for pudding, except using 3 cups milk. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Spread remaining whipped topping over pudding layer. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts.
