Each worshiper is invited to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food items that will be used by the conference in crisis situations to help the needy. Gospel awards program set for February 1990 Waljo Productions will present the People's Choice Awards at the sixth annual Waljo Gospel Music Black and White Ball Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Embassy Suite Hotel in Greensboro. The People's Choice Awards is an event which recognizes those gospel artists who have made a sig nificant contribution to the gospel music field. The categories for nominations are musician, gospel groups, gospel quartet, female soloist, directors, young promising musicians, musician writers, gospel choir, gospel announcer, male soloist, directress and promising musicians. Awards also will be given to nominees in the areas of outstand ing pastor of the year, producer of the year, song of the year, drummer, accomplishment award, musician (young adult), album of the year, percussionist, hall of fame, writer (young adult), male vocalist (young adult), female vocalist (young adult) and mimrian (ynnth) Other categories are female vocalist (youth), best college choir, professor of sacred music, writer, male vocalist (youth), best uniform group, promising musicians and scholarship. Anyone wishing to nominate an artist for the People s Choice Award may submit a nomination to WaljO Productions, P.O. Box 13318, Greensboro, 27415. Nominations for pastor of the year must be accompanied by a let ter explaining why he or she should be considered for the honor.
