Rho Zeta Chapter Holds Annual Soiree Michelle Cloud, the daughter of ~Mry and Mrs. Paul Cloud- Jr., was _ crowned "Miss Zeta Enchante" at Carver High School last Saturday during the Eleventh Annual Soiree of Rho Zeta Chapter, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. The program began with a piano prelude by Soror Dollye Mack. This was followed by a wel come, an explanation of the occa sion and the presentation of a plaque to Cheryl Super, the "1993 Zeta Woman of the Year," by Soror Emily Harper, basileus of the Rho Zeta Chapter. There were performances by guest artists, Louis Price, Fay Hauser and Sierra Hauser-Price. Louis Price, a former lead singer with the Temptations, encouraged 4he audience to participate in songs such as "Under the Boardwalk,** "Imagination** and "My Girl;* Faye Hauser presented excerpts from poems and portions of her original poems. Then came the time for "Miss Zeta Enchante of 1992, Chrystal Gerald, to be recognized and to relinquish her crown. In her gfr* ..." ? Cheryl Super, Zeta Woman of the Year, receives a plaque from Basileus Emily Harper . farewell speech, she expressed her appreciation to Zeta and the com munity for having supported her. Following the farewell speech, the contestants and their parents were presented. The girls then per formed their specialty dance, which, was choreographed by Soror Vivi enne Conley. Following the crown ing, a reception wa? held in the Carver band room, to honor the new "Miss Zeta Enchante" and her court, including Monika L. Hayes, the first mmier-u^^d ^Tamara Sjxings^sec-^ ond runner-up. Presenters for the evening were Oeopatra L. Soloman of the Urban League Community Service Pro gram, and Arthur N. Boone Jr., a supervisor of RJ. Reynolds and the ?producer and nanator ot "Give it to Me Straight," Ushers for the evening, who were all former contestants, were: Brandi Caldwell, Jamille Claybom, Mya McMillian, LaTasha Clark, Nicolle Dillard, Kyra Marshall and Jamese Sharpe. _ ?
