Esteemed panel to take part in World AIDS Day talk Moss I CHRONICLE STAFF REPORT In recognition of World AIDS Day (Dec. 1), the HIV Hope Project will hold a panel discussion on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. in the Central Library Auditorium, 660 West 5th St. It is free and open to the public. The discussion will focus on topics related to HIV/AIDS and the stigma asso ciated with the dis I ease. The role of the church in HIV education, pre vention, treatment and advo cacy will be addressed. Rev. Savalas R. Squire Sr., author of the upcoming e-book "My Hope is Built," will serve as moderator. Panelists will include Kareem Greene, exec utive director of pub lic relations for Bold Right Life of North Carolina; Wanda B. Moss, co-chairperson of C.H.A.N.G.E.'s Homeless Caucus; Dr. Nathan E. Scovens, senior pastor of Galilee Missionary Baotist Church: * Shalonda Ingram, a research scientist at NCCU and presi dent of Bold Right Life of North Carolina; and Rev. Jeremiah E. Shipp, a teen leader mentor at Love and Faith Christian Fellowship Church. Love' Skylar Lemon, a graduate student at Wake Forest University School of Divinity, will make a special presentation. Organizers promise that the discussion will be "infor mative, uplifting and empow ering" and will help develop strategies designed to bring love, acceptance and healing to those in the local communi ty living with HIV/AIDS.
