(21 Chicago Ave.. and their pastor. The Rev. L. Price were the invited guests of Rev. J. M. McCall and his congre gation at Moore's Sanctuary AME Zion Church on Morris Field Dr. Sunday evening. ..The Steward Board of Moore’s Sanctuary and Mrs. Olivia Sims sponsored a Church Building Fund Drive with 20 captains and co-cap tains being chosen to spear head the financial aspect of Ik# *ffnrt The evening's program was highlighted by a dramatiza tion of "The Ten Virgins," presented by members of C'athev Memorial Church, who brought unlimited spiritual enjoyment with their very moving performance. The Coronation Ceremony was climaxed with the crown ing of "Mr. and Mrs. Moore's Sanctuary”, the eaptain and co-captain who raised the highest amount of money during the drive. The honor went toO.K. Kidgood and Mrs. Marv I.ouise llerron. The runners-up were R.S. Mc Donald and Mrs. Ruby Mitchell. ..Rev. McCall stated that "praise should be given to all of the captains and co-cap tains who worked diligently to make the drive successful." .."Highly supported by the captains, the visting Cathey Memorial Congregation, < members of Moore's Sanct uary, and patrons and the sponsors of Sunday’s efforts, collected a total of 11.830. for the Building Fund Drive." | Rev. C. “Smoky” Bissell looks on YMCA’S Celebrating 100th Year ..Mayor John Belk presents his proclamation of the period November 10 through Novem ber 17 as "YMCA WEEK" to Y President H. C. "Smoky" Btssell. The observance was in recognition of the 100th Anni versary of the YMCA of Char lotte and Mecklenburg on Monday. November 11. ..Many local churches partic ipated in the observance with bulletin inserts on Sunday. ' November 10, or Sunday. November 17. The IdOth Anniversary Din ner was held Monday evening at the Central Branch on Morehead Street with Dr. deorge lleaton as speaker and Past President Joseph YV. drier. Jr., presiding.
