The Pointer Sisters To Release New ABC Album By Cynthia Bell Post Staff Writer The Pointer Sisters' HAV ING A PARTY, is their first album since they participated in the million selling CAR WASH soundtrack LP. This new album features collabora tion with the great Stevie Wonder, and Wah Wah Wat son. ABC officials expect this ,LP to ride high on the record charts. LIVE AND DIRECT by the Mighty Clouds of Joy is ano ther of the nine, fantastic, new releases by ABC records this month. According to ABC's officials, this swinging gospel sensation is moving deeper and deeper into the mood of contemporary Rhythm and Blues. “Several of the cuts on the new LP were recorded in' just one take, indicating that the Mighty Clouds of Joy are making the move from gospel extremely well,” said an ABC _ spokesman. “Blue Mitchell and his gol den trumpet are headed for the top of the charts,” he makes his smashing solo de but on AFRICAN VIOLET, an ABC-Impulse LP to be releas ed Friday, October 21. This play deals with Blan che du Bo is (Bwa), a woman who no longer faces reality but wanders into reman tic fanta _sies. The story takes place in New Orleans, La. where Blan che and her sister discover Stanley Kowalski, a strong animal-like heartless person. Surrounded by the people who dwell in the streets of the French Quarter of New Or leans; Blanche, her sister Stella and Stanley are thrown into situations which are diffi cult to face. The tickets are on sale for $2 general admission, $1 faculity staff and high school students and 50c for A.S.U. Students and young children.
