The Department of Labor
reports that unemployment
declined to 6.1 percent in
February. This represent the
fourth consecutive month that
thejobless rate has fallen, and
more significantly, the lowest
unemployment level in 3.5
years.
Equally significant is the fact
that the decline reflects job
gains for blacks whose unem
ployment declined to 11.8 per
cent, down from 12.7 percent
in January. The data, the
Department of Labor belie
ves, indicated that goverame
nt efforts to find more jobs for
minori ties might be paying off.

Bugs Bunny, with the aid of
other famous animated film
stars like Daffy Duck, Sylves
ter the Cat, Pepe Le Pew,
Foghorn Leghorn and Yose
mite Sam, helps a desperate
Granny find a substitute for
the Easter Bunny, who is
bedridden with a cold, on “The
Bugs Bunny Easter Special,’
an animated special to be
rebroadcast on Sunday,
March 18, at 8 on WBTV,
Channel 3.
Granny had hoped that Bugs
would be the Easter fill-in, but
Bugs, the movie star that be
is, is tied up with production
■
commitments. Concerned, the
rabbit does offer her his help
in finding someone else.
Daffy Duck is the most
eager applicant, but despite
his fervent attempts and
Granny’s desperate worry
that the Easter eggs will not
be delivered, she can't quite
see him in the role. Bugs and
Granny then audition a host of
other hopefuls through seg
ments of 10 classic animated
