Johnson's accuser, Waymer Moore of Lansing, is expected in Kalamazoo later this week to give her depositions. Nei ther Johnson nor Moore have testified publicly in the case. Attorneys for both sides have accused each other of stonewalling efforts to get pretrial Information. In April, Moore's attorneys complained that Johnson's attorneys were refusing to re veal the identities of individ uals with whom Johnson Stars & Bars Won't Fly Here ASSOCIATED PRESS WOODBURY, Tenn. - Coun ty Executive Harold Patrick refused Tuesday to fly a new county flag that has a Con federate flag in one comer of it. The new flag was approved by all 10 Cannon County commissioners in July. But some of the 10,500 resi dents of the county objected, saying the Confederate em blem raises the specter of ra cism. "I feel the safety and con cerns of the residents are more important," Patrick said Tuesday about his deci sion. He said he did not consider his refusal to fly the flag as breaking the law. "I knew this was coming so I researched it," Patrick said. About 2 percent of the coun ty is black. The commission is all white. Johnson had sex between 1982 and 1990. They also want the names of anyone who claims to have been in fected with HIV by John- son; the names of all health care professionals . who treated Johnson since 1977 and all health care facilities where he was treated: and all insu rance companies and others who asked Johnson to take medical exams. Johnson has acknowledged having one sexual encounter with Moore tn June 1990. But he said he did not know he had the AIDS virus until shortly before November, 1991, when he armounced his retirement from the Nation al Basketball Association's Los Angeles Lakers. Moore, 32, said she had not had sex with anyone for at least eight months before sleeping with Johnson. She discovered she had HIV In June 1991. She contends In her law suit, filed last October, that Johnson either knew at the time of their encounter that he was infected with the vi ms or should have known he was at risk because he had a confessed promiscuous life style. Johnson's attorney, Ho ward Weitzman, has said he believes Moore was more sexually active than she has admitted. The trial is scheduled to be gin March 7.
