Elarle Dameron who was called from his work at Roanoke on account of the death of his sister returned Monday. Misses Ruth and Thelma Thurs ton who have been the guest of friends at Efland and Clayton re turned home last week. It has been decided not to have the "Pretty Girl Contest" which had been planned by the Womans Guild of the Episcopal church. Mrs. S. A. Horne returned home Saturday from a visit to her sist er in law Mrs. W. H. King of Person County who is seriously ill. Ben Steele, conductor with headquarters at Danville was in town Saturday and Sunday the guest of his sister Mrs. W. P. Ireland.
