Winston-Salem, July 4.—In a desper ate battle the Twins defeated the P*a- triots in the morning game 3 to 2. Third Baseman Doak pitched for Greensboro and he gave up only thr4e hits. Greensboro scored her two runs in the first frame on a base on balls and two base hit by Doak, the latter scoring on the same swat by Clapp. The Twins'* runs were the result of a two base hit by Edwards, Spencer’s single lo short, Stewart getting to first on fielder’s choice, Edwards scor ing on Hardfrandt’s sacrifice, Rick ard’s error of Clemen’s fly to second, Spencer and Stewart scoring. A meeting was to have been held in the Greater Charlotte Club office this forenoon, but owing to the election, it was postponed. This is in line with the club’s idea of diversified industries for Charlotte A piano factory would bring a number of special workmen here, and a high class of trade. Mrs. Hacket Considering Offer.
