Jay Currin, Scott Treadwell, and Art Meyer formed the Taagiiard fcr the Forty-niners by wiaaiaK their singles matches. Charlotte clicked, in doubles matches as well with the teams of Art Meyer and Jay Cnrrin and Robert Bums and Jim Crawford emerging victorious from the dusty clay cowis. UNC-C plunged back into the depths of defeat, losing to Lynch burg College by a narrow margin of 5-4. Currin, Treadwell, and Meyer again sparked the locals by winning their singles matches. TVeadwell and Meyer worked nicely as a team and came out ahead of their doubles opponents. The tennis match against North Carolina Methodist scheduled for Thursday, April 21, in Fayetteville was can celled due to rain. On the following aftaiuxn). Golfers Lose Twice In Rocky Mount Match Hie Forty-niners fell to defeat twice in a triangle golf match at Rocky Mount Thursday, April 21. Charlotte lost to North Carolina Wesleyan 15% to 2% and to St. Andrews llVz-6'A. by Sam Rankin with % point. Hie double loss brou^t the golf team’s record to 4-3 in the DIAC and 5^5 overall. N.C. Wesleyan, playing on Us home fairways, received a tremendous performance from Us first five men. Their number two men fired a one under 71 and he was backed up by scores of 75, 76 and 77. CSiarlotte, playing with alter nates Jimmy James and Sam Rankin substituting for Ride Holt 2ukJ Jdmny Cole, was led by David Cotter against Wesleyan. At this convention, discussion sessions in which students dis cussed ways to form new campus Baptist Student Unions were held. From these sessions UNC-C representatives brought back some ideas concerning how a student religious group may be formed. Among thousands of avail able jobs, most of which require neither previous ex perience nor knowledge of a foreign language, are resort work, sales work, hospital work, farm work, and camp counseling. Wages and working condi tions are the same as those of the Europeans with whom the young Americans work. To encourage working in Europe the American Stu dent Information Service (ASIS) is awarding travel grants ranging from $250 and up to all job applicants. Interested students may ob tain the ASIS 36-page book let containing every job category available in Europe as well as wages, working conditions and photographs of Americans on the job in Europe by sending $2 (for the booklet, handling and air mail postage) to Dept.
