Currie "rah rahs" Page seven/Carolina Journal/November 28, 1978 UNCC cheerleaders (continued from page 4) we could do toward this in student government. Sure it may be a small thing but it has to be worth something. Better com munication would not on ly make you more aware as a student but it would make student government a better organization as a whole and a stronger organization. I would like to inject some personal thoughts at this point. Not only do I want to see a better rela tionship like that above but I would like to see us in student government in the future create a better working relationship with branches of the commuter life. When I say this, I refer to Residence Life, clubs and organizations, etc. It has been my experience that many times in student government we need one of these branch's help and in turn they may need our help. The important thing in the end is the student derives the benefits. One other thing my committee is working on is the problem of dorm elevators. This ought to bring out much interest from the dorm students. I urge once again make your views concerning this probelm to your floor leaders or resident ad visors and those in Residence Life. Meanwhile, my com mittee will do all it can. I feel eventually we will see some type of results con cerning the investigation. I would like to say something about a pro blem concerning other committees on campus. These committees have a problem of getting stu dent representatives. It is imperative students take an interest in these com mittees because they do deal with functions that are vital to the University. I urge all students to take an interest in these committees and if there are openings to get involv ed. It will be a great ex : perience for those students who choose to do so.
