FROM J. F. NEWSOM REGARDING S S. WORK Regrets the Condition Of Things In His Community Stands On Ih? Bible Only K ill jr. July Dear F-Mit- T : I wish tn sty to the many readers of tin* Reporter that I am very sorry indeed that 1 in my feeble way "f writing in regard to our Sunday School and some other things I mentioned in the last article I wrote that some people claiming to lie christians and members of the o'lurch took it upon themselves and charged me ol' striking at their churches and Sunday School when 1 said what 1 did in regard to churches and buy injr organs and letting their p >or members go uncared for and other things. 1 only men tioned this and meant it for the churches that are doing it. If my church is guilty of it I meant it for them as much so as 1 did any of the rest, and 1 say again that there are churches that their members to a certain ex tent worship those things too much and bray and boast on what they are doing and on the other hand there is a class of people that will make light of a church and will not attend services because they are not as finely built and furnished as others. Now. I don't care what others say about me being a hypocrite. I am not expecting for no man on this earth to judge me on what 1 have don», but I am willing for any man t'» look after me and if I do or |— — nWIWITIIHIM I» W—n—m—r—W————■■ nHMBHBMHHHBBj 5 ! n np* CONI.KNSKI> STATKMKM «. 1 STOCKHOLDERS AND I r» i i x The Bank of J LJ O|l (/ rvT JESSF. If you judge you shall lie judged by the same judg ment. It is all we can do to get up money br our pastor, and IK gets little enough, much less trying to beg and worry the good people for money fori things we can all'ord to do with out. Organs can't pray nor neither can they preach, but they help out in the service and 1 1 am as proud to see or hoar an | organ in a church as anybody, and have hope of other churches besides ours to buy them. IJut for the Lord's sake don't wor j ' ; ship those things more tnan you tin your God for we are told in Kxodus 22nd Chapter. and 2ith 1 Verse he that saerificeth unto any > Idol save unto the] Lord only' lie shall utterly {destroyed, and what I said 1 will say again. 1 can say truthfully that I ; haven't 9 anything against no living man on earth nor nothing against no church. (iod is the 'one that will settle with each, and every one according* to the 'deeds done in his or her] b nly, | whether it be good or bad, and the church that stands the test is one that worships*a true and living (Jod other than men and ( things of this world. Church THE I>A!\BUKY REPORTEW members are t■ a certain ex tent prone t'i worship their preachers. This applies to a great main* of us.
