But thr. members were widely scattereil and more easily could assemble at three othei places than they could all meet at the old house of worship, aud as they begun to develop iu then church life aud the young people became interested, they began t locate their religious life at. more convenient places; and in 1890 v. new church was organized at Bel mont, station on the Air Line Rail Road and in 1891 another one was orgauize.d at Stanley Creek station, on the C. C. It R. These organiza tions reduced the membership and greatly weakened the old organiza tion and as most of the le.uia'nin? members lived near tho old church aud at. Mt. Holly, it was agreed re move, the old organization 'o M?. Holly as soon asa hou of Worship could be built there. In January 1892 the new Presbyterian house of Worship was iu sight at Mt. Hcll.v and the pastor 7 announced regular servic-s would be conducted at 11 a, m. on 1st Sundays in the Luth eran church until their church building would be completed. Dur iug the year, other members were transferred to other churches until only two official (eiders) members were left, and the membership va further reduced by deaths and re moval to about 30 membirs and the pastor resigned the charge to take effect at the end ot the year 1892, in hope the Presbytery could do better service fer the church than he could, embarrassed with all the strum at teuding these charges. Notice wa given lor service at the oi l G -shen church on Saturday Dec. 10th and the people assembled and ma le fires aud warmed up the old church and the service met and received one member and transferred three to Belmont. Rev. T, A. Wharton Ch'm, Ex. Com. After service a free confer ence was held and all invited to ex press their views about celling the oldVhurch building, furniture and grounds. The sentimeut of the whole country seemed to be oppos ed to selliug the property and how ever much' the members felt the need of all they could get for it, in completing the new building at Mt.
