I am also sorry that Snow Ball can't do his own writing. Hello, boys, how do y.u like this little verse? My flesh is lean, I'm feeling mean; My form is growing wan: One thing I know, I soon shall go Where there's no firying pan. But this HI do (Twix me and you) I'll eat some while I can: Hot biscuit, tea and pork for me, The best that's in the land. A dainty dip within my lip From out the old snuff can. Marigold 1 isi When You Think of Coal Think of Us! Think of the GOOD Coal we have in store for you. Think of our oft-repeated statement that the time to fill your bin is in the spring and summer if you wish, to buy at the best price. : : : : : THOMAS COAL Company, Bridgewater News. (Crowded out last wek.) Bev. D. Monroe and Ber. Black, of Marion held a revival meeting at the Presbyterian church all last week. They had a good attendance and interesting services. Mrs. G. C. Anthony and Mrs. W. P. Hemphill and daughter. Miss Myrtle, were in Morganton shopping last week. Mr. Pink Hudson of Connelly Springs spent the week end here with a friend t A number of our Bridgewater young men attended a party at Frank Wilsons in Nebo Saturday night. Fred Yelton took in the Charleston excursion trip, Tuesday. J. W. Ballew and nephew Bob Bal lew of Kingsport, Tenn., spent the lat ter part of last week with relatives here. Eck Abernethy of Hickory spent Sun day here. The farmers, hare have almost finished "laying by" their corn, which looks splendid regardless of so much wet weather. Miss Annie Stacy of Nebo, opened her school here at the Tate's school house, Monday. She is boarding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Tate. Prof. R. L. Madison of Cullowhee, N. C, passed through Bridgewater Friday enroute from the Democratic State Con vention at Charlotte. Jack and Jill.. Left Booty in Church. Catawba, Jul.? 21. A mild sen sation was created here Tuesday While several ladies were cleaning and rearranpioff the interior of the Methodist church, they found a stack of papers which they decided to destroy. In removing it one of the ladies saw a package that she was prompted to investigate. An Atlanta Constitutiod and Ashevillc Citizen, beariug date of October, 1907, were unrolled, in the folds of which a large number of sheets of postage stamps, of several denominations (mostly 2c) were re vealed. A count was made and $151.25 was the amount. How the stamps got into the church is a puzzle; but the sup position is that some yeggman pass ed this way and slept in the build ing, accidentally leaving his booty or purposely hiding iL It is recall ed that about 1907 robberies of country stores and small postofikes occurred. The find has been re ported to the department. Prompt Delivery. Phone No. 158.
