Mrs. Seabury Ford's recital at The Carolina, Thursday evening, delighted a select company of music lovers who were most enthusiastic in their reception and jipplause. Her numbers mciuaea tne pro gram printed in last week's Outlook iind it offered excellent opportunity for varied work, all of the highest character Mrs. Ford possesses a voice of wonderful power, sweetness and range, and she sings with ease and pathos ; the effect be ing heightened by a striking personality In response to an enthusiastic encore Mrs. Ford sung "Way Down Upon the Swanee lUver", playing her own accom paniment, and when the last notes had died away there were few dry eyes in the hall. It is hoped by many that Mrs. Ford may be heard again before her departure, if not at a public recital, at least in an in formal way. IIIO FESSIOff AL OOLF. A special golf feature is being arranged for Friday, March 2 1th, in the way of a 3G- hole professional match, between Willie Anderson, the open champion, Uernard Nichols and Donald and Alec lioss. The progressive whist party held in the Dutch room at The Holly Inn Tuesday evening, was enjoyed by a large company of players. The first women's prize was won by Mrs. T. 1$. Monroe, Boston, with twenty-nine points. Mrs. M. E: Gcnung, Mr. Vernon, N. Y., took second, and the third went to Mrs. K. K. Perkins, New York. The first men's prize was won by Mr. IMI.
