Mrs. Price made her last try on the eleventh after Mrs. Hurd had caught the rough on her tee shot. Mrs. Price's tee shot and second were very good and her third was well on. She won the hole with a five and the gallery had hopes for a moment that she would stage a comeback. However, her tee shot on the twelth was in the trap to the right of the fairgreen and her third the rough, with the result that she lost the hole, as Mrs. Hurd registered an other five. At this point it was quite evident that the match would soon be over as Mrs. Hurd was playing remarkably steady golf which seemed to have a telling ef fect on Mrs. Price as she was plainly nervous. Mrs. Price again showed a fondness for traps .by putting her third shot on the thirteenth hole into the trap to the left of the green and as Mrs. Hurd's third was. well on she lost the hole which made her five down. Again on the four teenth Mrs. Price put her second into the trap to the right of the fairway, while Mrs. Hurd was on in three. A long put which found the cup by Mrs. Price was of no avail as Mrs. Hurd two for a half and won the match five and four. In the consolation division of the first sixteen Mrs. W.
