Variety Of Cases Tried In District Court By Judge Peoples
A number of breaking and
entering cases were among the
39 cases called here Friday
during a session of Warren
County District Court presided
over by Judge Lin wood T.
Peoples of Henderson. During
the mixed session a total of 21
continuations were granted
with the following action taken
on cases tried:
Maachi Avery, speeding 65 in
55 mph zone, called and failed.
Ordered arrested for appear
ance on June 11 with bond set
at $100.
Michael Aycock, breaking
and entering and larceny, no
probable cause of guilt of
defendant found.
Donald Lee Boyd, resisting
officer, ordered to jail for four
days. On charges of entering
and larceny, prayer for
judgment continued.
;j Pettway Burwell Boyd,
driving under influence, order
;j ed to jail for six months,
•; suspended for one year on
condition that he remain of
good behavior, not violate any
State or Federal Laws, fined
$100 and court costs, ordered to
attend alcoholic control course
and not operate motor vehicle
on highways of N. C. except as
allowed by restricted driving
privilege for one year.
Albert Bullock, no inspection
sticker, voluntary dismissal.
Bernard Bullock, forgery,
defendant waived right to
preliminary hearing and order
ed to appear at next criminal
session of Superior Court. On
charges of unauthorized open
ing of a sealed letter, court
found this charge related to
other charge and bound over to
Superior Court. He was also
charged with forgery and
waived right to preliminary
hearing and ordered to criminal
session of Superior Court.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones of Baltimore, Md., announce the
engagement of their daughter. Corannetta W. Jones, to George
K. Tilghman, son of Mrs. Sarah Tilghman of Princess Ann, Md.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Allen
of Warrenton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jones of
Henderson.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Western High School and
Coppin State College in Baltimore. She attended LovoU
College and is working on her master's degree at Morgan State
University. Her finance is a graduate of Somerset High School
in Princess Ann and Coppin State College.
A June wedding is planned.

Mrs. Cora Williams, secre
tary-treasurer, of the Warren
County School Food Service
Association attended the State
Convention of the N. C.
Association held in Winston
Salem at the M. C. Benton, Jr.,
Convention Center May 1 and
2. Mrs. Williams served as the
official delegate from Warren
| County with voting privilege.
The 27th Annual Convention
had the theme "Get The Spirit."
] Joseph Stewart, director of
School Food Service in
Washington. D. C., was special
speaker.
Mrs. Minnie White, North
side Lunchroom Manager, also
attended the convention.
She was awarded a certifi
jcate of recognition in the
Seasonal Decoration Contest
and won recognition in ail
categories but one in which the
limit had been reached
previously.
Mrs. White served on a panel
on "Decorating Your Lunch
rooms to Keep Up Interest."

Feted At Mansion
Mrs. Mabel H. Davis of Wise
was one of the guests at a
reception honoring outstanding
N.C. Volunteers at the
Executive Mansion in Raleigh
on April 30. Mrs. James E.
Holshouser was hostess.
