Doctors have always recognized the value of the laxative whose dose can be measured, and whose action can be thus regulated to suit individual need. The public, too, is fast returning to the use of liciuiil laxatives. People have learned that a properly pre pared liquid laxative brings a perfect movement without any discomfort at the lime, or after. The dose of a liquid laxative can be varied to suit the needs of the individual The action can thus be regulated. It forms no habit; you need not take a "double dose" s day or two later. Nor will a mild liquid laxative irritate the kidneys. The mrono cathartic man often do more harm than good. Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin Is a f resorption, and is perfectly tafe ts laxative action is based on senna ?a natural laxative. The bowels will not become dependent on this form of help. Coming Attractions At The Palace DANCING LADY' HAS DAZZLING BEAUTY CHORUS Bizarre Effects Achieved When Girls Dance Through Maze Of Mirrors Through cameracraft and me chanical ingenuity the motion pic ture screen becomes a gigantic ka leidoscope in the presenting of spec tacular musical ensembles in "Dan cing Lady," the new Metro-Gold wyn-Mayer production which comes Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 26-27th, to the Palace Theatre with Joan Crawford and Clark Gable co starred. in one of tne scenes each of the chorus beauties, revolving through a maze of mirrors, can be seen thirty times at once, the effect cre ated being an endless parade of pul chritude. In other scenes complete changes of costume and setting are witnessed, as though by magic, right before the eyes of the specta tor, Still other scenes whirl upon the screen in a dozen different an gles simultaneously. The most .thrilling scene of all, perhaps, is in the finale in which Miss Crawford dances through an impressionistic number of modern tempo In this some eight thou sand dancing figures?if you could possibly count them?appear upon the screen. Although cameracraft secret? are carefully guarded, it is declared that while thes^ scenes are actually pho tographed by the camera as they appear on the screen, the trickery lies in optical illusions scienttfif^ly computed by a corps of engineers. Six hundred mirror units and nine teen tons of fabricated steel were used in the shooting of one of the gorgeous dance ensembles. It is said. In several numbers. Miss Craw ford becomes the dancing partner of Fred Astaire, noted New York revue star. Nelson Eddy and Art Jarre tt sing the new songs. Franchot Tone, last seen witt Miss Crawford in "Today We Live," heads the supporting cast. jDthers SPECIAL SHOWS Feb. 23-24th Jhete Deep Sea Divert were always in hot water... with the ladies! SWELL COMEDY LAUGH LOADED SCREEN FARE Dunn-Trevor Vehicle, "Sally And Jimmy" Win Drive Away Blues "Jimmy and Sally," the Palace Theatre's offering which comes Thursday, Feb. 22, is wholehearted ly recommended by this department. In fact we believe that this Fox comedy romance with music is one of the ablest of the season and thoroughly suited to Jimmy Dunn's style. Also, we are of the opinion that his new film sweetheart, Claire Trevor, also portrays an interesting characterization. Jimmy, cast as a high pressure press agent, is so sold on himself that he neglects his girl friend. She happens to be smarter than he be lieves her to be and as a result he gets more than one surprise. On more than on occasion she gives him pointers which help to build up his ego. When Jimmy falls for his boss' sweetheart, a dancer with the lead ing night club, he starts something which he had not reckoned for. As a' result some of the big shots of gangland toss him around. Tte supporting cast is composed of a number of able troupers whose skillful efforts are worthy of men tion: Harvey Stephens. Lya Lys, Jed Prouty, Gloria Roy, Alma Lloyd and John Arledge. RICHARD DIX IN ANOTHER BIG HIT Does Outstanding Work In "Day Of Reckoning," Here Wednesday One of the most powerful human dramas ever to be presented on the Palace's screen is "Day of Reckon ing," picture of "prison families' starring Richard Dix. A vivid revelation of "wives who wait," the story concerns the iron rule of prisons that "no woman will wait for a man more than three years." Richard Dix-scores in one of the Thursday, Feb. 22nd Bubbling over With Romance Jimmy Sally james Dunn Claire Trevor HARV1V STtTHEK* i i wmmmm* i ?? MATINEE and EVENING most dramatic roles since his tri-, umph in "Cimarron" several years ago. The supporting cast includes such well-known players as Madge; Evans, Conway Tearle, Una Merkel and Stuart Erwin. Careful attention to prison detail, serves to make the jail scenes start- j ling in their realism. Every charac- ] ter player was chosen to provide a' background of men hardened by circumstance who see another man's life drawn into the turmoil. Rogers, "no More Women" presents the famous fighting-funsters as deep sea divers on rival salvage tugs. No one place is big enough for these two romantic boys, not even the bottom of the ocean. All day long they fight for sunken gold forty fathoms beneath' the surface of the water, and all night long they fight for the dames. __ . Things get a bit peaceful until Sally Blane appears as the owner of a tug. They both jump at the chance to work with her and fight for her. When, however, a rival diver at tempts to drown one of them, they go into a fighting huddle that fur nishes no end of amusement and thrills to an entertaining climax. Mina Gombell, Christian Rub, Tom -Dugan and Prank Moran are also in the cast. o McCoy Film Provides Unique Screen Thrills A pair of cow-punchers gone "bcne-crusher" is the theme of one dynatoite sequence1 ot "The Whirl wind," Tim McCoy's latest Colum bia thriller that comes Saturday. Feb. 24. to the Palace Theatre. A new high for excitement and action is reached in the picture when Tim McCoy faces Matthew Betz, the villain, in a wrestling match that would do credit to Mad ison Square Garden. The boys really have it out and the thrills come fast while they are going through head-locks, flying mares, half-Nel sons, wrist-locks, and assorted rough tackles. Alice Dahl is seen as Tim's new leading lady, Pat O'Malley, J. Carrol Naish. and Joe Girard are promi nent in an excellent cast.
