S.i;.,A -.Kiii-t'lsi.-f VUMtsi Fhu.xiav , February 1, 1911. We are now told that corn liquor causes pellagra. Look out men. We are talking and working for Scotland Neck. Are you? x The women of Virginia have been refused the privilege of voting by the present legislature. The split log drag would be worth a great deal to the roads just now. Wonder how many are Ifteing used throughout the county? Gov. Woodrow Wilson is a bigger man to-day with the people than he wa before the Watterson Harvey Wit son-Till man controversey. Th politicians, as well as others, tha desired to control his actions are di in -r r 1 th. y en ag.dnst him. The Gift-n-bo: o Ni-w. puts it thi vvay: "When the southern farmer e'eet corn kintr in p'ace of c t on and niakt- the latter mere'y a member of the cabinet there will be a far more wholesome business government among the agricultural masses." Standing for The Right. Hurrah for Bishop John C Kilgo and those consecrated Methodist ministers of Durham, who have the courage to stand up snd tell the world they do not believe that re vival meetings gohf.nd in hand writh pool tables, card tables and the like. They may not be able to reform the world and change the customs of the times by the fearless stand they have thus taken for God and the right, and this they hardly expect to do. But they my at least save the grand old Methodist Church in Durham from a humiliating compromise with the devil. Even this is wcrth while. What place have pool tables ani the, like in Christian institutions anyway? This is one of the chief objections to the Young Men's Christian Association. It started out atl ngnc. hut it has become entirely too much of a worldly or ganization under a Christian name. Of course there are a great many people who can see no harm in the e thing?, and there are still a greet many who would mix up no end cf worldly amusement with the Church itself. Probably one of the chief elements of weakness in the Church today grows out of the fact that it has compromised too much with worldly tendencies among its own members. Shall we say it? The Church has already become too much of a fash ionable worldly organization in many places, and just to the extent that it has done so it has lost its power with God and men. It-is against this unfortunate state of affairs that Bishop Kilgo and the Methodist ministers of Durham are now contending, and every conse crated preacher of righteousness in the land ought to join forces anfi make eommcjfi cause with them. But will they doit? What of the poor pastors of fashionable churches who might desire to do so, but must preach with a muzzle on or give place to someone else who will? All honor to ministers who are not. afraid to speak out, just like Bishop Kilgo and those other Dur ham preachers have done, regardless of the sentiments of those who may want to be in the Church because it is popular to be there, but are not willing to give up any of their sin ful and worldly amusements for the sake of theCh-irch and for Christ's sake, and may this type of fearless ministers increase in the land which the Lord their God stands ever ready to give them if they will on'y stretch forth their hands and take it in His name. Zion Landmark. The Bill Should Pass. It is to be hoped that the bill of Congressman Webb "to prohibit ih terstate commerce in intoxicating li quors in certain cases," or "to di vest whiskey of its interstate com merce character in certain cases," or some bill of the same- import, will pass. The Webb bill prohibits the shipment or transportation, in any manner, or by any means what ever of any spirituous, vinous, malt ed, fermented, or other intoxicating liquor of any kind, including beer, ale, wine from one state to another in which the sale is prohibited. Concord Tribune. CASTOR I A For Infants and Children. The Kind You Have Always Bought Bears the Signature of Death lit a LSiite Boy. Halifax, N C, Jan 30. It is al ways a sad duty to have to record any death, whether old.midd!e aged, or younor, but especially so of chil dren who have nor trddt-n the; rough, ruuged p iths and nave all of : life's untried exi,eier;-es l eft re : them. i On Monday afternoon ac five; o'clock death came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira G. Show, taking therefrom one of their bright boys, Glenn, who had reached not quite twelve vears. Glenn was a well- grown little fellow, bright and smart for his age, and no doubt would have made a smart man some of these days; but the Lord, under whose divine providence we are, had use for him in yon heaven and took him from the home where for these years ha has been accustomed to the care and instruction of parents who did their best to instruct in the right way. And he will be missed who of us are not glad that when we are gone there are those ief t be hind who will miss us? G'enn was quite a favorite with the bo-sand enjoyed play and other pa-tin. e. HELPFUL HINTS ON HAIR HEALTH. Scalp and Hair Troubles Generally Caused by Carelessness. Dandruff is a contagious disease fsmspd bv a microbe which also rro duces baldness. Never use a comb or brush belonging to some one else. No matter how cleanly the owner may be, these articles may be infect ed with microbes, which will infect your scalp. It is far easier to catch hair microbes than it is to get rid of them, and a single stroke of an in fected comb or brush may well lead to baldness. Never try on anybody else's hat.. Many a hat-band is a resdng'place for microbes. If you happen to be troubled with dandruff, itching scalp, ailing hair or baldness, we have a remedy which we believe will completely re lieve these troubles. We are so sure of this that we offer it to you with the understanding that it will cost you nothing for the trial if it does not produce the results we claim. This remedy is called Rexall "93" Hair Tonic. We honestly believe it be the most scientific remedy for scalp and hair troubles, and we know of m.t dng else that equals it for ef fectiveness, because of the results it has produced in thousands of cases. Rexall "93" Hair Tonic is devised to banish dandruff, restore natural color when its loss has been brought about by disease, and make the hair naturally silky, soft and glossy. It does this because it stimulates the hair folliciles, destroys the germ matter, and bring3 about a free, healthy circulation of blood, which nourishes the hair roots, causing them to tighten and grow new hair We want everybody who jhas any trouble with hair or sc dp to kiow that Rexall "93" Hair Tonic is the best hair tonic and restorative in ex istence, and no ore should scoff at or doubt this statement until they have put our claims to a fair ttst, with the understanding that ther pay us nothing for the remedy if it does not give full and complete satisfaction in every particular.
