The admiralty an nounces, with reference to reports that vessels have been sunk in the Cattegat and in the neighborhood of Skaw, that no mines dangerous to merchant shipping have been laid by the British outside the British noti fied areas, addng: "Any mines In the above regions which are dangerous to merchant ship ping must, therefore, with her usual disregard for neutral interests, have been laid by Germany." Germans Planned Revolt. New York, May 15. Testimony that In 1916 Germans in the United States were planning to revolt against this country was given today at the state attorney general's investigation of re ports of hidden munitions. Largest Crowd Ever Attended Baltimore, Md., May 15. With the infield thrown open free to the public, the largest crowd that ever witnessed a horse race in Maryland was expect ed to gather at Pimlico this afternoon for the Preakness stakes of $30,000, divided $15,000 to each section, which will be run as the fourth and sixth races. 11 TYPES OF MOBILE HOSPITAL UNITS NOW e Designed to Give Facilities - ' For ' Immediate Aid to Injured. May 14.Anhouncement was made today that the developments of modern warfare have . necessitated the adoption by the. medical depart ment of the' AmeHpan,! expeditionary force of two types' of iriobile hospital units, both of which are designed to give facilities for Immediate surgical aid to the seriously Injured. The first unit will consist, of fixed sterilizing X-ray and "electric light plants, mounted ' on two auto-trucks. Accompanying them, on ordinary trucks, which will be temporarily as signed as needed,. , are. to: be a light frame operating room, tentage and material sufficient to establish a hos pital of 120 beds. The operating features will provide all modern . facilities. The" mobile hospitals may function independent ly, or they, may be attached to ad vanced sanitary formations reinforce Ing X-ray surgical departments. . The second - mobile - unit will con sist of portable sterilizing, X-ray and lighting plants, a light frame operat ing room and surgical material all mounted on two auto-trucks. This unit has no hospital facilities and it cannot function independently, but it will supplement the equipment of advanced field hospitals and provide for immediate aid to non-transportable wounded. OFFER OF PEACE SUBJECT OF DEBATE. London, May 15. The Manchester Guardian says that the peace offer made to France last year by Austria, as revealed recently in the letters written by Emperor Charles to Prince Sixtus, will form the suubject of a debate of the highest importance in the house of commons tomorrow. Since the publication of the em peror's letters, the question has been raised whether the Ausutrian offer should not have received greater at tention and especially whether Presi dent Wilson should not have been consulted.
