Myers Miss Shirley Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter Thomas, of Franklin, Route 2, became the bride of Robert Furman Myers, son of Mrs. Lawrence Myers, of Franklin. and the late Mr. Myers, Wednesday. Jan. 30, at 5 p. m. The wedding took place at the Fr&oklin Methodist. Church, and the Rev S. B. Moss, pastor, per formed the double-ring ceremony. The vows were, spoken in the pres ence of the families and friends of the couple. Prior to the ceremony, Miss Mar garet Wilson, accompanied by Mrs. Oilmer A. Jones, sang "O Perfect Love". Following the wedding, a re ception was held in the assembly room of the church. Mrs. S. B. Miss Robinson Marries Zickgraf Miss Geraldine Robinson, daugh ter of Mrs. Lucile Payne Robinson, of Oreensboro, and the late Henry Horton Robinson, became the bride 3i William Grant Zickgraf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant L. Zick graf. of Franklin, Wednesday of last week at the Alamance Presby terian Church in Greensboro. Dr. Benjamin Brown, pastor of the church, performed the cere mony. Knoxville, Tenn., wore a ballerina length gown of Chantllly lace over satin with lace appliques border ing the scoop neckline. A satin cummerbund bound the waist, with a bow and long streamers In center back. The full skirt had a scalloped hemline. Her veil fell from a half hat of lace, and she carried bride's roses. Miss Martha Ann Robinson, sis ter of the bride, was maid of honor. Miss Virginia Dare Robin son, sister of the briae, and Miss jane Zickgraf, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. They all wore sheath dresses of embroidered white lace over green taffeta, and carfted white roses and carnations. They wore green taffeta halo hats. Mr. Zickgraf served as his son's best man. Junior usher was Henry Horton Robinson, Jr., brother of the bride, Kathryn Zickgraf, sister of the groom, was flower girl. Groomsmen were Stephen Payne Robinson, of Greensboro. Charlie Krepp. of Baltimore. Md.. Cole man Barks, of Chattanooga, Tenn.. Hank Dreyfoos, of Washington, D. C., and David Pollock, of Frank lin. A reception followed in the social hall of the church. Assist ing were Mrs. Eli Bowling, Mrs. Edna McPetters, Miss Doris Oliver, Miss Marsha Hart, Miss Peggy McPetters, Miss Bobbie Watkins, and Miss Kathryh Potter. The couple will live in Chapel Hill, where Mr. Zickgraf is a stu dent and Mrs. Zickgraf is em ployed in the office of the School of Medicine. Those from Franklin attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Zickgraf, parents of the groom, MISS BLAINE WEDS HAYESVILLE MAN Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Blaine, of Otto, have announced the marri age of their daughter, Miss Mary Sue Blaine, to Jack C. Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmer, of Hayesvllle. The ceremony was performed Jan. 12 at the Sharp Memorial Methodist Church In Young Har ris, Ga? by the Rev. Arnold Smith, pastor of the church. Monteith-rUUott Wedding Announced Mr. and Mrs. Birch Monteith of Franklin, Route 1, have an nounced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Rebecca Mae Mon teith. to Walter Furman Elliott, son of Wiley Elliott, of Franklin, and the late Mrs. Elliott. The ceremony was performed in Walhalla, S. C., by Judge R. C. Carter II, on Jan. 5. Accompanying the couple to Walhalla were Miss Janet Gribble and Earl Blanton. Mrs. Elliott is a senior, at Frank lin High School and will continue her studies there. Mr. Elliott attended Franklin School and is now employed by Franklin Hosiery Company. This is the old Lyle home, just out of Franklin on the Dilisboro road, which was torn down recently. The photograph was made about 1891. When did the house, built by Dr. J. M. Lyle, go up? Older residents fix the time the Lyle family moved in ? the last wagon load of their household furnishings crossed the Little Tennessee River from Franklin just a few minutes before the old covered bridge across the river collapsed. Tha? was about 75 years ago. Miss Laura M. Jones, who loaned the picture to The Press, was able to identify most of the per sons on the front porch. At the left, seated, are Mrs. Lily Jones and her sister, Mrs. A. S. Bry son, with their children. Standing at the left of the door are Dr. Lyle and his son. Dan Lyle, who lives in Peck, Idaho. In the doorway are Mrs. Lyle and her sister, Mrs. J. B. Cunningham. In the group at the right are Dr. and Mrs. S. H. Lyle and their children. Claudia Ragan Has Birthday Party Mrs. Jack Ragan gave a sur prise party Monday afternoon at her home, honoring her daughter, Claudia Ragan, on her ninth birthday. Wiley Ashe Thirty-five called. Nantahala Class Sponsoring Hymn Program Sunday The senior class of Nantahala j High School is sponsoring an all hymn program Sunday afternoon ; at 2:30 at the school. Featured on the program will be the Bailey Brothers Duet, the Happy Valley Boys Trio, Red and Fred, and the Spivey Mountain Boys Trio. All quartets and trios are in vited to appear on the program. Admissions of 30 and 60 cents ?will be charged. Otto School Hands Drive Large Gift A gift of $201.90 has been turn ed over to the March of Dimes drive by the grades of Otto School. Mrs. Hazel Norton's second grade led in the campaign with $51.15. Runnerup was Mrs Bea trice M. Alley's third grade with $35.27. In individual solicitations, two second graders were the highest. Evelyn Evans raised $8.04 and Andrew Bradley $7.80. They each received prizes of a dollar for their efforts. Principal E. O. Crawford turn ed the collections over to Dean Carpenter, county drive chairman, this week. ' RECEIVES INVITATION An invitation to attend the pre sentation of a portrait of the late Gov. W. B.
