Africa, at Higdonvllle Baptist Church last Sunday morning. Miss Manley discussed her work and experiences and special music was presented by Miss Hilda Oen "Ti Hf*"1'1 and Donald Olossner, solfe^ffrom Carson Newman Col lege. It's camp meeting time again at the Cullasaja Assembly of Ood Camp around! Services will begin Tuesday night. July 1. at 7:30 p. m The Rev. Cyrl Homer is to be the minister for the meeting. Services will continue through July 13. The public is invited. Club To Meet Remember, folks, bring a picnic supper and come to the commun ity picnic area next Monday night for a community picnic and tor the July meeting of the Cullasaja Community Organization. The time is 7 o'clock. H. D. News Higdonville Home Demonstra tion Club met at Mrs. Ted Hig don'o home last Friday afternoon. Mrs Harry Moses, club president, presided. Mrs. Sherrill gave an ac count of Farm and Home Week in Raleigh, reviewed a book, and dis cussed the freezing and canning of fruits and vegetables and jam | ??? Mrs. Sammy Bryson invited the club to meet at her home next month. The Cullasaja club will not meet July 4. as previously scheduled, because many of the members are going to Asheville to attend the annual Craftsman's Fair on July 14. Personals Miss Annie Stralne celebrated her 88th birthday Sunday. June 22. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Bryson. Mrs. Mary Byrd. Mrs. Norma Stralne. and several other relatives called on her. Miss Carolyn Bryson went to Wlnston-Sklem last week to visit Miss Laura Lyle. She and Miss Lyle went to Myrtle Beach for several days' vacation. Mrs. Lester Holland. Mr. and Mrs. Burt M&shburn. and Jessie Marie Mashburn toured the Smok ies Sunday and visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holland in Maryville, Tenn. Mr. Holland is Mrs. Mash burn's brother. Dock Gibson, of Andrews, visit ed his mother. Mrs. Dollie Gibson, at her home on Mashburn Branch Sunday. Gilbert Moses and Joe Bingham left for Washington, D. C., last Saturday morning for a visit with Kermit Dehart and other friends there. They plan to stay about five or six days. Elmer Cook, serving with the U. S. Navy, in Florida, spent the week end with his parents, Mr and Mrs. Cylde Cook. Bob Stewman, of Sylva. visited his brother. Bill Stewman, and sisters, Misses Effie and Laura Stewman. last week end. T. B. Higdon, ot Atlanta, was a week end guest of Mrs. Eva Keen er and Miss Lis Keener. Dr. and Mrs. Furman Corbin, of Bryson City, spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Eva Corbin. Mr. and Mrs. Bred Corbin had their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Max Corbin, and two sons, of Louisville, Ky., as guests last week. They will return for a few days' visit after visiting her relatives in Rome, Qa? this week. Mrs. Fred Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Graham Grindstaff went to Asheville last Saturday.
