Womaclc It Winner In 'Jeep' Contest Reid Womack of Macon Willys Company, 'Jeep' dealership at Franklin is a winner in the re cently concluded 'Jeep' Suinmei Jamboree, a national contest spon sored by Willys Sales Corporation. The announcement was made by J. E. Whalen. Willys southern regional manager at Chamblee Oa. Awards were based on sales achievements during the three month period ending September 10. A merchandise prize was a warded the dealer based on the number of points he accumulated enuring the contest. Top prizes in the contest were expense-paid trips to Hollywood for two. This fall there are 79 Macon ians enrolled at the college, and among them are ' three whose scholastic records are so outstand ing as to merit special attention. They are Misses Ruth Norton. Jean Phillips, Mysa Crawford. If added together, the aggregate quality points earned by these three students would be stagger ing, since each one has been con sistently listed on the honor rolls. All three are sophomores, takin? teacher training, and all are active in the Wesley Foundation, the Methodist organization for college students. Miss Norton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Norton, of the Otto community. Franklin, Route 2. She attended High Point Col lege last year as a freshman, and I transferred to WCC this year. At High Point, she attained a "B" j average for the first semester, and stepped up to an "A" average for I the second semester Although she has not yet received a report at WCC. she is well adjusted In her class schedule, and is making good marks on recitations and tests. Her major fields are English and social science, and she is a member of the campus chapter of Future Teachers of America. Miss Phillips is the daughter of i Mr. and Mrs: Nat Phillips, of ' Route 5 Last year she was listed on the Alpha i highest' honor roll for three successive quartern. In addition to scholastic honors, she is treasurer of the Future Teachers of America, member of the student English seminar and the International Relations Club. She is also majoring in English and social science. Miss Crawford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Crawford, of Route 1. Cartoogechaye com munity. She has been listed on both the Beta and Alpha honor | rolls, and participates in several student activities. She is secretary of the sophomore class, member of the Women's Athletic Associ ation and the Future Teachers of America.
