' Mr. Howard Matthews, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Matthews, Mrs. Josh Matthews and Mrs. George Nanopoulos were shopping in Sanford this Wednesday. First Lieutenant Freddie Davis of the US Army Air forces is home for a few days with his family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Davis. Mrs. Ed Johnson has been ill at her home on Clay Road Farms. At the present she is greatly im proved. Jock Biby has bought the old Thaggards school house and ad joining property. He plans to re model' and add on to it to make residence there.. His father, Sam Biby; has bought the property across the road from him at the Thaggards Pond and is building a nine-room house, One of his sons who has just returned from the army plans to live there. Mr. Bi by had three boys in the service and they all saw action in the European Theatre. Mr. Jack Matthews and John Monroe have their sawmill ready for action and hope that their neighboring farmers will start brining their logs in right away. Mrs. Bill Rogers has been ill with a severe attack of asthma. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Seward of Niagara spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Matthews at their home on Clay Road farms. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Matthews visited Mr. ^nd Mrs. George Nan opoulos Sunday evening and had a talk by telephone with thpir daughter Rheba Matthews in Reading, Mass. Rogers" Matthews visited his mother, Mrs. Ruby Matthews ov er the weekend. Rogers is out of the navy now and driving for Keith’s Truck lines out of San ford. Jeff Baker had his car stolen from him this past Tuesday night and at the present he has no clue whatsoever. It was a 1937 Chev rolet roadster, green with a can vas top.
