Boy Scouts Get
Advancements At
Court of Honor
Seventeen Moore County Boy

yet been decided.

shoes, beard and sideburns, as
servants on the estate prepare to
clean a carriage used in the mov
ie.
Mr. Frye has worked in this
area as a painter and decorator
and has served in both the Army
and the Navy. In the Army he re
ceived accidental injuries to his
right arm and shoulder which still
trouble him.

“Swan”—has been playing a
guitar since he was 12 or 13 years
old, he says, including consider
able professional experience at
events in this area and on a Ra
leigh radio program several years
ago. He thinks his guitar is his
best passport to a career in the
entertainment field,

“The Swan,” starring Grace
Kelly and Alec Guineas, is due for
release in 1956. Biltmore House
(490 rooms and 70 baths) and its
surrounding estate form the 19th
century European background for
the action in the film.

extras before MGM began film
ing at Asheville and presented
himself for interviews, passing

The Mannes Trio
As the second presentation in
its current series of artists and
guest speakers, the Pinehurst Fo
rum will sponsor a concert by
The Mannes Trio Thimsday, De
cember 15, at 8:30 p. m. at the
Pinehurst Country Club. The
Club’s weekly buffet supper will
as usual be held prior to the Fo
rum meeting, at 7 p. m. Advance
reservations are neces.sary for the
supper.
Trio members Leopold Mannes,
pianist, Bronislav Gimpel, violin
ist, and Luigi Silva, cellist, are
now on their fourth North Amer
ican tour, and in February will
leave for Europe to appear in
concert and iwth orchestras in
England, Holland, Germany and
Italy.
Their concert engagements in
this country since the group’s or-
agnibation in 1951, have included
appearances in large and small
communities and at many col
leges and universities throughout
the United States, as well as re
citals at the Library of Congress
in Washington, and in New
York’s Town Hall.
