Construction of
Wildlife Club’s
Home Starts Soon
It‘s the “Moore County Wild
life Club, Inc.” now—duly char
tered by the State and the owner
of an attractive piece of real
estate for which exciting plans
are being made.
Dr. George Heinitsh, club presi
dent, presented the club’s new
charter last week at the Novem
ber meeting held at Shields
Cameron’s cabin. Devils Gut
Ranch, on .the Old Pinehurst Road.
He also presented for inclusion
in the permanent records the
deed, which has been duly record
ed at Carthage, to the acreage
east of Kenwood, near Southern
Pines, on which the club will
build its first home.
Albert Tufts, building commit
tee chairman, told the 50 members
present at the meeting that con
struction would go forward im
mediately, as the first $1,000 was
in sight and the rest would be
borrowed as needed. A financing
plan has already been approved
by the club, calling for annual
membership assessments of $7, to
be augmented by contributions.
President Heinitsh reported on
the State Wildlife Federation
convention held recently at
Greensboro, over which he pre
sided as retiring president imtil
a new president, Jim Conley of
Morganton, was elected. Dr. Hei
nitsh, concluding a successful
year, had declined to run again
but will continue on the state
board of directors.
